A Little Bit About Me
Asalaam alaykum. I'm a Pakistani single mum living in Coventry with my 6 year old son who has mild cerebral palsy and autism. I'm getting this out there first because I like to be transparent.
I don't need a knight in shining armour to swoop in and save me from a terrible existence as a single parent. I actually quite enjoy the solitude sometimes, and making all the decisions by myself is uncomplicated. I have, however, been divorced for almost 6 years, and I'm ready to move on.
I'm fairly independent, financially stable and work full time. I'm not career-focussed, but I do enjoy setting and achieving goals - in all areas of life. Alhamdulillah I have my own home, and my parents and siblings live across the road (typical Asian!) so I have a lot of family support.
I like to read, watch TV/films, learn about different things, and go on walks. With an active 6 year old, my daily life centres around his needs - going to the park, soft play, finding learning experiences for us, and doing the usual boring routines - cooking, cleaning and the rest. I'd like to do more local and global trips, explore the world, see how other cultures live. I like keeping active and enjoy being in nature, going on walks, being by mountains, the sea etc.
I enjoy good conversation about...anything and everything, really. Politics, world history, science, religion, pop culture.
I spend a lot of time finding strategies to support my son with school and home life so we end up doing lots of creative things, making toys, games, projects etc. I'm a hands on parent.
In terms of personality, my friends would probably describe me as the funny, straight talking one. I don't really do social media, I'm not a big sharer outside my close circle of friends, and I don't enjoy politics or drama in my relationships. I'm a fairly simple, down to earth person.
I read my 5 salah daily. Islam is important to me, and my values and character are informed by it so I'd like to find someone who shares that.
If there's anything you specifically wish to know, please ask.

What I Am Looking For
Someone born and raised in the UK. I think this makes a good starting point for compatibility.
Someone who reads Qur'an, salah, is kind, honest and responsible. Someone who is financially stable. And can cook a basic meal.
If you're interested in history or travel, languages, cooking etc., I would be interested to know what you enjoy and why.
I am at a stage in my life where I have experienced marriage and motherhood. Therefore, to maximise the chances of compatibility, I would prefer someone divorced/widowed who already has children and doesn't want any more, or someone who can't have children.
I don't have a long wish list of traits, I would rather have a conversation and establish if we have any common ground.
Please note that if you've never been married and state that you want children on your profile, it's very unlikely that we will be a match.
